Acceptable use policy
This policy protects our customers, our network and the wider internet. It forms part of the Terms of service. It applies to everything run on your account, including by your users and customers.
Not allowed
- Spam — sending unsolicited bulk email or messages, operating mailing lists without confirmed opt-in, or hosting sites advertised through spam.
- Network scanning and attacks — port scanning, vulnerability scanning or brute-forcing systems you don't own or aren't authorized in writing to test.
- Denial of service — launching DDoS attacks, running "booter" or "stresser" services, or traffic amplification.
- Phishing and fraud — impersonating others, collecting credentials or payment details by deception, or running scams.
- Malware — hosting or distributing viruses, ransomware, botnet command-and-control or exploit kits.
- Cryptocurrency mining on shared plans — mining is not permitted on shared-vCPU plans (K1–K8). It is allowed on dedicated-vCPU plans and dedicated servers.
- Open proxies and relays — running open proxies, open mail relays or open DNS resolvers.
- Illegal content — anything illegal under US federal or state law, or in the place your server runs or you operate from, including child sexual abuse material (reported to authorities immediately), content that infringes intellectual property, and content promoting terrorism or violence.
- IP spoofing — sending traffic with source addresses not assigned to your server.
- Evading limits — creating multiple accounts to get around limits, suspensions or verification.
Email and port 25
Outbound connections on TCP port 25 are blocked by default. You can send email through a provider on ports 587 or 465. Accounts in good standing for 30 days may request port 25 — see Email & port 25. Port 25 can be closed again if we receive spam complaints.
Fair use of shared resources
Shared-vCPU plans share processor time. Sustained 100% CPU use for long periods may be throttled; we will suggest a dedicated-vCPU plan. Each plan includes a monthly traffic allowance shown on the pricing page.
How we enforce this policy
- We monitor network patterns such as outbound connection rates and packet rates, which reveal scanning, attacks and spam, without looking at the content of your traffic.
- When a server appears to be causing harm we act first and investigate second: we usually network-suspend the server (cutting its public network while keeping it and its data intact) and tell you by email and in the console.
- For serious or repeated breaches we may power off servers, close the account and keep unused balance to cover costs, as described in the terms.
- We cooperate with law enforcement where legally required.
If your server was compromised, we'll work with you to clean it up and restore access.
Reporting abuse
To report abuse from an IP address on our network, use the abuse report form or email abuse@hosting.kasadaai.com with the IP address, time (with time zone) and evidence such as log lines or email headers. We aim to respond the same business day (Mon–Fri 9am–6pm ET).
