Billing & wallet
Kasada Hosting is prepaid. You top up a wallet by card, and running resources are charged against it by the hour. No surprise bills.
The wallet
Your organization has one wallet, kept in US dollars, and every price, top-up and balance is in US dollars. Owners, admins and members with the billing role can top up and see statements.
Hourly billing, capped at the monthly price
Every running resource is charged each hour at its hourly price — for example $0.028 an hour for a K2. A server's charges in a calendar month never go above its monthly price ($19.00 for a K2), so a server that runs all month costs exactly the listed monthly price.
- Charging starts when a server is running and stops the moment you delete it.
- Stopped servers are still charged (the disk and IP are reserved for you).
- A server that fails to build is never charged.
- Add-ons: backups +20% of the plan price, snapshots $0.05 per GB-month, extra IPv4 $3.00 a month, IPv6-only $1.50 a month off.
Top-ups
Open Billing → Top up, choose an amount and pay by card. Your first top-up must be at least $10. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay and Google Pay, charged in US dollars.
You're sent to a secure card checkout page (we never see or store your full card number). The wallet is credited as soon as the payment provider confirms it — usually within seconds — and a receipt is emailed to you.
Sales tax
Prices are shown before tax. Where we are required to collect sales tax in your state, it is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay, and printed on your receipt. Your wallet is credited with the top-up amount before tax.
Auto-recharge
Auto-recharge is optional. Save your card at checkout and turn on auto-recharge under Billing: when your balance drops below the level you set, we charge your saved card for the amount you choose. You can turn it off or remove the card at any time.
When the balance runs low
- Low balance — when your balance covers less than about 3 days of your current spend, we email you and show a warning in the console. Auto-recharge runs if it's on.
- Below zero — your servers keep running for a 72-hour grace period, with a reminder each day.
- Powered off — when the grace period ends, servers are powered off. Your data is kept, and you can turn them back on after topping up.
- Deleted — after 14 days powered off, servers, snapshots and backups are deleted. We send a final notice 48 hours before.
Statements and receipts
Every top-up gets a PDF receipt straight away. Each month you get a PDF statement showing your opening balance, top-ups, charges, credits and closing balance. Both are under Billing in the console. The Usage view breaks charges down by server and add-on, and shows where the monthly cap applied.
Refunds
Usage already charged isn't refundable. Unused wallet balance can be refunded on request, at our discretion, to the original payment method. See the Terms of service.
